My Glacier Village is a 501(c)3 organization, led by a working board of directors and managed by an Administrator/Volunteer Coordinator. Built for seniors, BY seniors, we rely heavily on our members and volunteers. In addition to our working board we have committed volunteer team leaders, who have created and manage our Core Functions.
Jenn Prunty, Board President
Jenn Prunty is the founder and Board President of My Glacier Village. At the age of 43, she became aware of the challenges her parents, inlaws and family members were having around aging, particularly where they would live out their fourth quarter.
In 2017, she took her experience in residential construction, management and real estate and became a Certified Aging in Place Specialist with the National Association of Homebuilders. Her goal is to help people understand that successfully “aging in place” doesn’t necessarily mean living in the same home where they raised their kids, or even where they’re living now. It means choosing a home where they can be happiest, most confident, and independent for the longest period of time. It means taking a lifelong approach to aging, so we can all can live in our own homes and on our own terms for as long as possible.
Her goal for My Glacier Village is to break down the stereotypes and change our conversations around aging. Longevity is a gift and should be honored and celebrated.
Mary Wallace, Treasurer
Board Treasurer, Mary Wallace has over 40 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience and her favorite jobs have always included being the fundraiser, event coordinator, bookkeeper, and travel advisor for the many businesses and non-profits she worked for. In 2018, she took a leap of faith and launched her own virtual assistant business, Mischief Managed.
Mary loves to travel, cook, read, and dabble in watercolor painting. She lives in the Creston area with her husband, three dogs, and four horses, and she is grateful to have her three grown children and three grandchildren living nearby.
Mary became passionate about My Glacier Village when she saw how much joy the friendships, sense of purpose, and spirit of community the Village brought to her mother’s isolated life at the age of 85. “They just GET me,” her mother often remarked. She loved the connections and opportunities to do things for others and to try new things, such as learning archery and writing her many poems. In continuing to support the mission of My Glacier Village, Mary feels she has found a most rewarding way to honor her mother’s memory.
