What does it mean to be a member of My Glacier Village? It means connecting with a group of older adults, who treasure being able to live independently in their own homes. It means making new friends, trying new things and having help when you need it.
Service requests can be for anything from help with groceries, errands, small home repairs, rides to appointments, changing sheets, etc. Volunteers can help with gardening, decorating for the holidays, walking dogs, minor home repairs and replacing batteries and light bulbs.
We understand the need for geniune connection and create monthly opportunities for members and volunteers to meet new people and stay active and engaged. Often it just takes a couple of outings before members are reaching out to each other!
Rides to our events and activities are not counted as a service request...we never want anyone to have to choose between support and making new friends.
